You know how you can get bored of some types of dance music very quickly...well, not so with Psalmistry! It's too interesting, there's lots going on in the mix and a diverse range of influences can be detected by a trained ear. This is innovative stuff: there's nothing else like it in the Christian scene. The nearest mainstream comparison would be the Prodigy or the Chemical Brothers! The banging beats are there, sounding rather similar to the bailie of Waterloo...but probably a bit more in time! And the techno synths and samples cut through the ear like Peter's sword at Gethsemane! Not only is the music unsubtle, but the message is loud and clear too, whether sung by soul diva LB or shouted/screamed/whispered/rapped/everything but sung by Edi! "Jesus paid the cost for us on the cross" is the message in the first track of this six song EP. The second is called "Live Your Life For Jesus". No messing! This is exciting stuff for any dance fan who wants to stay up-to-date, whatever their spiritual state! Buy it and listen long and hard.
