The video that accompanies the CD was recorded in front of a live audience in an old vaudeville theatre built by Cecil B DeMille. But this is no Hollywood production. Okay, so there are cute puppets which are muppet rip offs, it's brash, gaudy and got kids in it; but I don't think it's a hot Oscar contender. Psalty looks daft in a huge book outfit and that irritating voice. It's everything that's naff about children's TV - a kids' presenter trying too hard, clowning around that's passe in the '90s and adults dressed up as embarrassing things like church mice (?). This is a rehash of what's on the CD, except in full Technicolour - pantomime evangelism (oh no it isn't!). This is cheesier than the EC Cheddar mountain. A cringe-a-minute pastiche that's not a patch on the sublime Veggie Tales. The whole storyline revolves around the Multiphasic Take Your Time Machine which transports Psalty and Co to such diverse locations as the jungle and an old-style revival meeting. Next, cue stage left the Noah's ark scene where all the characters are muppets! (Honestly!) There's even a Kermit look-alike who sings a solo. If I were Kermie I'd sue! You'd be onto a winner if you checked out Word's other kids' product, Veggie Tales. Anyway, vegetables are better for you than this over-sweetened confection.
