"For your precious times of relaxation, 'Quiet Moments With God' will take you to that place of intimacy, where the tranquil sounds of instrumental worship calm the soul and free the spirit.” Thus say the liner notes, and thus, indeed, it is. A bundle of contemporary songs of worship taken from the Kingsway folder and relayed here in simple, uncluttered form, with nothing more than piano accompaniment and the occasional beat programming. Alan McCure is the sensitive violinist uncredited on the front sleeve, and thoroughly proficient he is. Delightful too is the selection of tunes chosen; gorgeous melodies that adapt well to this type of treatment, with no fewer than four from the pen of Mr Redman, a couple from each of Stuart Townend, Keith Getty, Graham Kendrick and Lara Martin, plus various other goodies. At times reminiscent of Paul Heyman, this music is - perhaps deliberately - less creative and diverse. Hardly exciting or innovative, then, this is nevertheless a pleasant hour's worth of music.
