A classic from 1976 and one which has been acknowledged by quite a part of Christendom. In 1988 a CCM critics poll listed 'Welcome To Paradise' as the number three Christian album of all time and certainly it is a celebration of everything that is good in music of the Jesus Movement era. You've got the punchy country rock of "The Winner (High Card)", the achingly tender "Song For Sarah", the gallows humour of "Lung Cancer" and the raucous "Good News" which celebrates a life transformed by Christ. The sound has been re-mastered from the original multi-track tapes and comes over clear as a bell. Collectors might be disappointed that this version of the album mysteriously only contains two bonus tracks, the demo of "I've Got News For You" and a fascinating little piece of audio titled "Randy And Larry Writing Heart Lock", rather than the six bonus tracks on another (now unavailable) version of this re-issue. But that's being picky. This is classic stuff.
