Hailing from Los Angeles, hardcore punk band Rapture release their debut EP through On The Attack Records. Right from the off this record offers everything you would expect from a hardcore punk record. "Intro" sees a bass riff give way to heavy guitar licks, screaming vocals and a passionate message to convey opening with the line "Through the thick and thin, I will not give in". This sets the tone for the record with the band clearly wanting to stand up for what they believe in and put the world to rights. It is always refreshing to find a Christian band making such a raw passionate war cry against the wrongs of the world. Songs such as "Enemy Lines" and "Deceiver" tackle spiritual attack and dealing with the lies of the enemy and are delivered with the righteous anger they deserve. There is not a great deal of diversity as Rapture charge through six tracks at breakneck speed, most barely breaking the two minute barrier. The EP closes with "Nothing Else" featuring guest vocals from Joel Muniz of fellow Californian hardcore band Dynasty. This track is a real song of worship, hardcore style, ending with just drums and gang vocals shouting "Hallelujah, glory to God."
