Rebekah is an accomplished musician and songwriter in her own right, although being the daughter of the late, great Keith Green begins to explain where some of her musical talent is coming from. Based in Los Angeles, Rebekah writes and sings songs with a good-time vibe that are catchy and well crafted. Her voice is bright and clear and reminds me of Katie Melua with a pinch of Natalie Imbruglia mixed in for good measure. Although not explicitly a Christian recording, the content still deals with themes such as freedom in "Beautiful World" and facing your problems in "Nobody Has To Know" that Christians can relate to. My favourite song has to be "Find My Way" as it contains everything a great pop song should have: a solid groove, tuneful melody, moments of light and shade and the ability to take you on an emotional journey. Rebekah's positive up-beat style has already got her noticed as two tracks from this EP have already been featured on MTV's The Hills. Maybe this is a sign of greater success to come? So if you are in need of a splash of happiness or a ray of sparkling sunshine to brighten up your day, have a listen to Rebekah LeBeau. You won't be disappointed.
