Elements of jazz, hip-hop as well as old school funk are blended here to give this album a wide ranging appeal. This music from the independent Base 9 company (run by dance producer Dr Onionskin who is also a member of this loose knit aggregation) includes some very innovative underground sounds. They have achieved a synthesis of styles that pushes forward their sound from their previous albums into new realms. And the gorgeous, powerfully soulful voice of lead singer Ehmandah delivers the lyrics splendidly. This is music that will touch your spirit, as well as get your toes tapping with lyrics that are both biblical and intriguing. So, if neo-soul funk gospel sounds like your thang, check this out.
