Although the tracks on this album were written by the gifted and witty tunesmith Matthew Thiessen back in 2001, I love how this album still sounds fresh. It must the energy packed into the mainly fast paced, yet simply structured pop punk tunes. With their wonderfully amusing lyrics, and sounding somewhat like a cross between Weezer and McFly, this band have improved album on album since this was originally released. But it's great to be reminded of the now well known "Pressing On", the amusing US high school prom story on "Sadie Hawkins Dance", the acoustic "For The Moments I Feel Faint" - I bet you find yourself singing "never underestimate my Jesus" for days after listening - and the weird but wonderful words on "May The Horse Be With You". Yes, I did say "horse"! Despite being feted for his wit and well placed cynicism and sarcasm, Thiessen is also comfortable with hard hitting themes such as backsliding ("What Have You Been Doing Lately") and making the decision to believe ("My Way Or The Highway."). It's a great mix.
