Remedy Drive's fifth album has been repackaged as an extended edition with three new songs: "Guide You Home", "Speak To Me" and "Rescue". The full 14 tracks of crisp pop-rock contain no discernable filler and the driving, anthemic choruses are reminiscent of the likes of Keane or Nickelback. Lyrically there is a great deal of originality here, and Remedy Drive should be applauded for their creative approach to songwriting which manages to be fresh without being light-years away from the tried and trusted rock song formula. The new tracks fit in seamlessly: the fist-in-the-air style "Guide You Home" makes way for the more reflective, slow-burning "Speak To Me" and the record finishes up with a grand, bombastic finale in the shape of "Rescue". I would urge anyone with even a passing interest in modern rock to check out Remedy Drive straight away.
