A very enjoyable album from the longtime stalwarts of the Midlands gospel scene, the quality of the songs and musicianship stands up well against the best from America. More incredible is the fact that the fine gospel songs here are originals by group members. The styles of the songs vary – from the jazz-tipped “All Done”, the reggae-based “Test Of Time”, to the uplifting ballad “For This Time”. The appeal of this contemporary gospel offering is such that it should appeal just as much to the young as the elders with more traditional tastes. Although recorded live, the production’s tight and there are some nice brass sounds. The best parts however are the vocals: whether it’s the choir or soloists taking the vocal limelight, the charm doesn’t diminish, a typical example being “Deep In Our Heart”. Recommended.
