If you've caught this American bluesman on one of his UK visits you'll know you're in for a treat here. This DVD-CD set was recorded live at Jimmie's "Red, White and Blues" evangelistic concert on 4th July 2003. The eight song set comes on both an audio CD and on a professionally filmed DVD featuring both Dolby Digital Surround 5.1 and high quality uncompressed PCM Stereo sound. The DVD also has interviews and extras. Jimmie Bratcher knows the blues - and he knows the Lord too! Put this together with the tightest band of veteran blues musicians (yes, on the DVD you can see how old they really are!) and as one of the songs says, there's a 'Party going on'! The tracks are taken from Jimmie's two studio albums, both highly rated in previous CR reviews. Performed live, with an impressive horn section and Paul Draper's fantastic Hammond B3, this is blues as it should be seen and heard. If you like guitar-driven blues then this two disc set is just what you need.
