New York's Revelation Project have been compared favourably to the likes of Dream Theater and Spock's Beard and as such will certainly appeal to fans of the prog metal genre. I'm not convinced that either comparison is entirely accurate, musically they don't play intricate time-signature games like Dream Theater or have the vocal harmonies of Spock's Beard, but their self-titled debut album is still an impressive slice of keyboard laden metal, featuring fine vocals from Tom Bender and searing lead guitar from Graeme Swallow. Of course an exploration of the Book of Revelation is nothing new in the metal world, Christian or secular, from Iron Maiden to Saviour Machine, but RP's album follows the plot neatly, with scriptural readings interlacing the tracks. Prog metal is a fast growing genre these days, especially in the USA and Revelation Project's album has the musicianship and production quality needed to excite the most meticulous fan.
