From the sinner's prayer on the inlay cover to the challenging lyrics of songs such as "Be Counted" and "The World Is A Wreck", 'State Of The World' is an honourable attempt at evangelism and hard hitting preaching. However despite Revelation Squad's commendable efforts the album is sadly a dull affair. The low-key beats and lazy delivery make for a substantial album. Many of the words don't even rhyme or flow. This is most notable on "Choose Him" where the group declare "I have got something to say and I don't care of it doesn't rhyme" before sharing the word. It is to their credit that they wish the Gospel message to be simple and clear but the song's opening phrase could sum up the whole album. The listener will need stamina even to reach this song, number seven in the track order. Revelation Squad is clearly a group with a passion for teaching and spreading the truth. However they clearly need to work on their art.

To be honest not impressed with the beats, rhymes, or recording quality. The message is delivered, which is great, but more time should be spent on how it is delivered. I have to agree with Paul Woodward. With Love-- J.S.
