When I first put this CD on I honestly thought it was an album of musically re-arranged "classic" hymns, it was only when I read the credits that I found out that they'd written all the songs. Herein lies my disappointment. While the production and arrangements are good, can't fault them, and the music bounces along in fine funky fashion, the songs themselves don't seem to have been given the same lavish attention, every lyric I'd heard before. Quibble aside, Rhythm definitely sound like a great band to see live, of which the CD is just a taster.
