From his time in the influential but commercially unsuccessful Buffalo Springfield through the invention of a particular sound in country rock to salvation and a solo career, Richie Furay has had a hand in some amazing music over a long career. And he's got some stories to tell as he rubs shoulders with Neil Young and Steven Stills, manages to avoid doing too many drugs with Gram Parsons and overcomes the breakdown of his marriage to find restoration through a new found faith in God. As you'd imagine, there are plenty of fascinating Rock'n'Roll stories along the way and because these days Furay is a pastor, he has a keen eye to see God weaving a tapestry through the circumstances of his life. Hindsight is 20/20 and it's certainly true that God had his hand on Furay's life before he ever knew it. Musically there seems to be a recurring story with Furay always reaching for the prize of huge success but always seeming to fall short. There are the frustrations of seeing good solo records under performing and the common modern tale of a musician struggling with unsupportive record labels. There's also Richie's story of the Poco reformation and tour and the Buffalo Springfield reunion which never was. He's in the Rock'n'Roll Hall Of Fame and The Lamb's Book Of Life and there aren't too many people who have achieved that! Whether you're into music or would just enjoy a story of redemption, this fascinating biography will hit the mark.
