'Hamilton Man' is a six track offering of blues harmonica. The tracks were recorded live by Rick. Harp and mic in one hand and punching the effects, chords and backing in with the other. This gives the harmonica a great gut level feel but the backing is naturally rather stilted. The live recording approach also means that there is no way to "fix it in the mix", there are a few occasions when the harp could be higher in the mix, but then its all down to personal taste. Enough of the recording process, the music is a great taster for Rick's undoubted talents as a blues harp player. From what I've heard I would really like to see Rick perform live with a guitar, bass and rums band, definitely worth parting with three quid (even if you're not into blues).
