The Righteous Riders are a fresh, pull no punches crew, who drop a wholesome blend of rap that's heavy on the R&B sound, together with a whole load of jazz, funk and gospel influences. The album weaves its way through an unusually varied mix of styles, emotions and themes, with a clutch of real gems to be had. "So Many X's" is a bass-driven, harmonic track that is really well crafted with some lyrically fresh and dynamic rapping, carried along by an overall soul/R&B vibe that features throughout the album. "Can't Live" and "Your Love" are uplifting soulful numbers, clean cut, but effective. Check out the gospel-tinged "Sweet Communion", where the Riders show their vocal dexterity, a smoothly sublime slice of Heaven, incredible. A great album, especially if your preference is for mellow.
