Originally from Western Australia (this was released there in 1998) but now Rita has relocated to this fair island. There are some obvious problems with this EP. Problem one is that the self-written songs vacillate around with no coherent style or focus. Song one "Diamond Child" is a gospel style romp which apart from an excellent horn section is way too stylised; "So In Love" is pop rock with a dull hook; and "Destiny Is Calling" is a limp ballad complete with cheesy synthesiser. Problem two is that occasionally Rita's pitching is a tad suspect. With such a wealth of CCM talent in UK today, I suspect Rita will have to start from scratch again in the UK. This flawed debut simply isn't strong enough to use as her calling card.

Is there nothing good we can say about this recording? I
have a copy myself and feel this is a slightly unforgiving
'Simon Cowell' interpretation of a spirit lead production.
On a musical level, I partly agree with points raised,
however there is no positive comment from a
prophetic/spiritual context, which is as much part of the
spirit and heart of the worshipping musician as the songs
are.
