Welsh bluesman Rob Ash has bolted together a real flyer here - a rhythmical chugger that pulls out with "Living On The Mountain" and just doesn't stop. Maybe it could have used a little more variation at that - it eases along and sometimes you're not sure quite where one song ended and the next began, it's so laid back. But hey! Who's worried when Ash's vocals mumble and groan happily like a cross between Mark Knopfler and J J Cale? The lyrics are straightforward but deft and surefooted (watch out especially for the quick-fire quirky lists of "Save The World" and "Crazy For Your Love") and that dependable heartbeat is chug-chuggin' away. Sounds more than a bit like Bryn Haworth at times but Ash's voice pulls through a pleasing difference. Special mention for the short, pointed and lyrical "Footprints On The Beach", last track but definitely not last choice.
