Robbie Halkett plays gigs around the Inverness area and judging from this tape is a serious new addition to grassroots ministry. The best song here is "Rise" with an undulating rhythm and a wistful chorus while the ballad "All I Want" and the rockier "Without You" also have their moments. Programmed drums (rather under mixed) and a clearly limited recording budget don't hide the fact that here is a talented songwriter. A year or two of gigging and a bigger budget and this young man will surely be ready for a CD.
