From the west coast of America comes the Rock'n'Roll Worship Circus and this album introduces you to the most exciting worship band in America! Initially signed to the small Sovereign label, the band cut a debut disc
'Big Star Logistics' before finding a home as part of the Vertical family. Looking like they belong to The Faces circa 1974, all spiked hair and down to earth attitude, R&RWC take worship music to a new level creating a
musical approach which strips things down to the catchy vibe of a three minute pop rock tune. They also integrate into the mix influences as wide as The Monkees, The Doors and all those other great psychedelic pop bands of the late '60s. There's also a full on glam rock feel to some of this. The result is a unique sound that has simply emerged from what the band has done in their own church. The band name comes from the free and exciting spontaneous nature of the meetings where they have led worship. The British release will be a welcome album for those who want rock'n'roll worship but who have got tired of the samey feel of some of the British scene recently. The album actually contains some songs from their Sovereign album and a pile of new material. Highlights are the driving glam rock rhythm of "Ride" and the celebratory "Party Song" which the band wrote to play when people got saved at their gigs. There's the mighty anthemic "The Undiscovered" and the immediate jangly sound of "Blood Of Jesus" with its intriguing "It's
the blood of Jesus baby" lyrics! Definitely not your standard worship songbut then the Rock'n'Roll Worship Circus are not an ordinary band! For me, these guys are creating some of the most exciting worship on the planet. An antidote to all those hyped up Australian worship albums and bland MOR colour by numbers worship. Time to join the circus.
