Hot on the heels of his fabulous first ever banjo album 'Hogan's House Of Music', this long time member of Alison Krauss & Union Station released in November last year an eight-track Christmas CD full of some of the most melodic, moving and delicate sounds you could wish to hear. If you missed it last Christmas, 'Carter's Creek Christmas' is still worth checking out for the next holiday. Accompanied by Tim Crouch on a variety of instruments including fiddle and viola and Matt Dolan on snare and tambourine, Ron himself plays guitar, mandolin and banjo. The lovely "What Child Is This?" is truly beautiful before we all go off on the very jolly "Sleigh Ride". The remaining tracks feature some of the most sensitive and emotional renderings you are likely to hear with such haunting Christmas classics as "Angels We Have Heard On High", "O Holy Night", "Brightest And Best (Star In The East)" and the closing "The Cherry Tree Carol". Interspersed we have a lively version of "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen" and the humorous "Santa Claus Is Coming To Town".
