Recently saddled by another magazine with the wince-inducing description "Britain's own Amy Grant" (a phrase which is both wildly inaccurate and usually the kiss of death for any growing ministry). Rona is in fact an exceedingly gifted pop gospel singer with bags of mainstream biz experience (heats of the Eurovision Song Contest, pantomimes, cabaret) who since 1991 has been establishing an effective church-based ministry. The budget on this album was clearly limited, though John Budden does a sterling job with the production, so consequently the most effective songs are the gentler ballads, like the quite lovely "Only A Whisper Away" rather than the snappy up beat numbers which need mucho production to make them zing. But Rona is clearly a fine singer and songwriter (she wrote all 13 songs here) who undoubtedly you'll be hearing (and reading) more about in the future.

Wish I could remember the song she sang for my husband back in Salisbury ❤
Beautiful voice.

I work with Grant Hetchings who has been working with Rona on the new album, so I've had the opportunity to have a sneak pre-listen to whats going on. All I can say is fantastic stuff. This woman is so talented, not only as a singer but as a writer. There isn't one bad track. All of the songs reach you for one reason or another, which means one thing only she is very gifted and crafts the material so well. I agree with the above review, she needs to be brought back into the limelight. Come on Rona do some local gigs and come on Cross Rythems get Rona featured in your mag again.

Heard through a friend some of Rona latest recordings (I believe it will be available later this year) It was really really good. The power in her voice gets stronger each time. Loved the songs 'betrayed, back in your arms, here with you and tomorrow's to late' although all tracks are good. I'm just shocked we're not reading more about Rona in this mag, I think it's time you did either another review or interview, after all there have been a futher two albums since My Child. Look forward to hearing the new album. AK

I had the opportunity of seeing Rona Reed-Poulson perform live. Her more recent material is even more outstanding than My Child which I found remarkable, as I did not think you could get better than this. Rona is one of the most gifted singer songwriters of this country and she touches souls. Her music and performances is both powerful and moving.
