The reputation of Texas-based Ross King has grown steadily over the years, his fine songwriting abilities being utilised by an increasing number of artists. Here King stretches beyond the praise and worship formulae he so effectively employed on 'To Make God Famous' (reviewed CR69) to consider a range of pertinent social and spiritual issues such as the suffocation of moral standards, the implications of holding power and Ross's desire to be at the centre of God's will. These new and self-penned songs come wrapped in interesting, catchy pop melodies, King's pleasant vocals ever to the fore. A prophetic quality attends the poignant "Unplanned Ground", while the closing, acoustic "Clear The Stage" carries the noteworthy observation that "worship is more than a song'". A classic closer. Strong themes, quality music...'Decorations' is a significant work.
