The motive behind this project is the raising of funds toward 17 year old Naomi Wiseman, a member of the Holy Trinity Church Of Scotland in Edinburgh, being allowed to fulfill a long-held dream - to be strengthened in faith and fellowship through attending YWAM's Discipleship Training School, Hawaii. To help in this effort, and to which all the money raised will be directed, older sister and music and drama graduate, Ruth has risen to the challenge of setting on disc a batch of varied songs she has penned over the past few months for a five-song EP. The title track opener is an intriguing, rhythmic testimony of God's grace, a tad offset by slightly annoying keyboard tones. In contrast, the delicate, clarinet and piano-led "Create In Me" is a prayer-song based on Psalm 51, and shows off Ruth's sweet, sensitive vocals. Catchiest track of all is "How Can I Thank You?" with devotional lyrics that are original, intimate and poetic. Effortlessly guiding this tune on acoustic guitar is Gus Stirrat, a jazz student at Strathclyde University. All in all, impressive stuff.
