An independent act based in Minnesota offers, somewhat surprisingly, some gospel-reggae. There isn't a definite focus to this album, so it's a clever ploy to just put the hodge-podge of tracks under the title 'Life In General'. Yet here the messages most of the time are given with an endearing eagerness. On issues like race, the reggae minister addresses it with a confident thought-provoking degree on both sides of any divide. There's also a well-rendered, challenging testimony on the track "1995". While not being an album that will win any awards for innovation for anyone looking for a change of style in the reggae world it's an album worth searching out. The outstanding track is "Broken" which really speaks to anyone who is going through a tough time and needs to draw closer to God. Stripped of the electronics and in an unplugged acoustic environment, particularly with intimate worship, Daniels and his crew prove to be especially warm and inviting.
