Texas-based S.O. is one of a growing number of emcees bringing a positive, faith filled message to hip-hop in a way that speaks to church-goers and non-church-goers alike. His smooth flows along with slick vocals sit with the best. And this EP, released in May this year, is a welcome treat while we await the 6th September release of his 'Augustine's Legacy' album. "For A Minute" is dedicated to "my fallen soldiers" and trying to deal with it, while "Got You" is loaded with perseverance and determination when life is difficult. I especially enjoyed his tribute to his mother and her influence as he grew up in "Mama Said", and the clever carousel backing to the title track. There are no fillers here, every track is a gem.
