If you know how to pronounce Gulleiv Wee (bass), Inge A. Engelsvold (keyboard), and Oddi A Nessa (vocals), you are doing well, but these three guys from Norway deserve some serious respect just for their pure creativity alone. On this the second album release from Salvation Street, the quality of production (as done by the band) is sky higher than what you may have been led to expect from CCM, so much so they are getting respect in the mainstream. The sequencer programming throughout the album is characteristically original and gives the recording its electronica synthesiser theme. Depeche Mode forged this ground originally and the influences are there, but this fits well with an Ibiza chill-out in the summer sun. The original songs are typically of the rhythm guitar pop that permeates CCM, but the presentation sets them apart. You don’t expect lines like “Heroin is cheap”, but the lyrics will softly challenge the futility of secular life and present God as the only real alternative. It’s "our lack of love and grace, revealed before the son." If God is their dream pilot, let’s see where he is taking them.
