I recently told Premier listeners that this Sam Baker was the old Sound Stage 7 soulman. Well, maybe he isn't (no mention of an R&B past on his biography) but what is transparent is that this man is a MAJOR R&B gospel talent with a wonderful voice that can caress a sweet soul ballad like "No Love Lost" and rasp over a seriously funky groove, like on the opener "Praise The Lord". Magnificent voice, some superb songs and arrangements, lyrics which are in your face gospel with no crossover compromise and artful production from White Heart veteran Tommy Simms. If you're in London, Plymouth or High Wycombe you'll hear it a lot on the radio. Make sure you spread the word.
