The second instalment in seasoned Irish troubadour Sammy Horner's 'Worship Like A Celt' series continues to promote the worthy notion that worshipping God is a holistic and all-encompassing act and not exclusively about praise music. Whilst volume one was more traditional in its musical approach, this offering finds Horner and crew mixing Celtic instruments such as pipes, fiddles and whistles with some gentle early '80s-style electronica as conjured up by co-producer Tony Silcock. This combination works surprisingly well and this, alongside an uncharacteristically underplayed vocal performance from the man himself and the inviting tones of his wife Kylie on some numbers, allows the ancient and modern to be intertwined with style. Highlights include the mesmerizing "Everyday" which features violins, flutes and mouth music to great effect whilst the song of gratitude "Thank You" is something of a nod to Horner's old band the Electrics. Elsewhere, the blessing "One Hundred Thousand Welcomes" and the resolute "The Bold Deceiver" help cement the worship theme of this release before a version of Psalm 150 - read in the Irish tongue by Harry O'Neill and featuring a turn from Welsh blues guitarist Tim Crahart - closes this enjoyably boxy little record in abstract fashion.
