It can only be hoped that the quality of this album is not overlooked amidst the controversy surrounding Sandi's divorce, for this is a fine album indeed. All the silky vocals and huge production values that we've come to expect, but matched with some fine songs, some of which reveal a rocky edge to Sandi's voice that we've rarely heard before. Writers Greg Nelson and Bob Farrell have constructed 'Le Voyage' as a concept album -it's like a 90s version of Pilgrim's Progress. Hence, we hear "Little Narrow Gate", a beautiful ballad with which the journey is begun. We ascend "Long Look" mountain and travel through the "Forest Of Fears", eventually arriving at the "City Of Rest". It's a tale of the traveller learning from her companion as she endures trials and testing. Sandi is certainly most blessed to be presented with such a complete vehicle for her talents at such a difficult time in her career, and it's ironic that this album may see reduced sales in the States and yet be the product that finally introduces her to a wider audience in the UK.

I have this cd among the many of Sandi Patty recordings in my huge ccm collection. Of course the stand out song is the video hit "Hand on my Shoulder". This song really showcases Sandi's vocals at top notch!! she shines!!! I just luv the video for the song also! I also heard "Home will find you" on ccm radio; great duet with John Elefante. A nice edited version of "Unexpected Friends"; originally recorded on 1990 Another Time, Another Place cd. "Love can open the Door" and "Long Look" are also cd notables with that nice ccm pop quality sound.
GOD Bless! -Don note: nice notable comment below by David Kerr.

I love this album.I do not associate artistic talent with the artist's predicament nor do I get use it as a deciding factor whether to buy a Sandi patti cd or not.She is Pure talent! That's all! What's more it is a Gospel Music from the world's greatest talent! I will stick with her no matter what!
