Sandrine Daniel-Joel is a woman of many sides and talents. Her musical career is only one of these sides along with being a mother, a wife and a businesswoman. Her second album 'I'm Grateful Lord' combines powerful messages of belief and servitude with excerpts of Scripture and modern gospel backings; many tracks having a strong reggae flavour about them. Unfortunately, there is little more that can be said about this album. The cliché backing tracks, one of which seems to have been lifted straight from Peter Andre's "Mysterious Girl", become quickly irritating and monotonous. The arrangement and production of the album also leaves a lot to be desired. There are many occasions where the backing vocals and lead vocal do not appear to be in the same key. Daniel-Joel has a sweet and charming vocal quality that is easy to receive, however, at times her pitching could benefit from some work. It also helps little that on many occasions the mix is such that she cannot be clearly heard. Very disappointing.
