Sarah Clay is a worship leader and songwriter based in Cambridge and I first came across her songs a few years ago at a summer Bible week where she was part of the worship team. Now she has recorded her debut album in a live church setting with the help of producer Paul Burton and the result is a pleasing collection that ranges from the uptempo "Bless The Lord" to more chilled out worship like "Glory To The Lamb". Songs like "Your Glory", "Take My Life" and "Wind Of Your Spirit" give the worshiper more room to breathe as these songs are given the space to float and drift rather than rushing on. Accompanied by fellow worship leader Jonathan Miller and a strong bunch of supporting musicians, this is more creative than your usual local church recording. For the last few years, her song "You Are Beautiful" has been sung in my own church and I rate it as one of the best worship songs I've heard in ages. It closes the set and if you're looking for fresh worship material, born in a local church setting rather than mass produced for the worship scene, check this out.

“When we worship, we enthrone the precious blood-stained Lamb of God. Something amazing happens; we join with the multitudes around the throne of the Lamb. We are not just worshippers who sing our praises here on earth; instead, we join with the saints, the angels, the heavenly hosts, tens of thousands crying out ‘Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lamb that was slain’.

“When we draw near in worship, the Lord comes and builds a throne of His glory and His presence, right in the midst of us. It is amazing to think that God Almighty is searching, seeking out his worshippers who will worship in Spirit and in truth (John 4:23). What an honour to be worshippers that he seeks.”
