It was always a mystery why the alt pop team Chasing Furies never achieved US success. Now the lade who fronted that critically acclaimed group returns and it's been well worth the wait. "Where You'll Find Him" begins with a deceptively simple rock riff, but it quickly becomes apparent that the song has been carefully and cleverly structured, with twists and turns that would impress Thom Yorke. The creativity is maintained throughout the album, with each track being as strong and as quirky as the last. Sarah's haunting voice is perfectly suited to the style, carrying a powerful clarity that allows her to stand out amongst her contemporaries, and she is accompanied by an outstanding band. "Sunshine" is an absolute triumph, with its playful syncopation, clever lyrics and it boasts a stunning chorus. This album should be able to keep most listeners interested, with its unusual yet catchy songs and deeply God-driven lyrics. Sarah's debut is astonishingly strong and hopefully she'll be making more albums in the years ahead.
