Sean Feucht ticks all the right boxes for contemporary charismatic worship leading. This CD was recorded at various fashionable charismatic locations, including Rick Joyner's MorningStar Ministries, Bill Johnson's Bethel Church and Soul Survivor in Holland. The guitar playing recalls The Edge on early U2 tracks, and Feucht's singing sometimes echoes mid-period David Ruis. On his own website, he is described as a "prophetic psalmist", but sadly this reviewer has some problems with that description on the evidence of this release. Not that in any way I wish to query his integrity, sincerity or honesty, but if you are going to be "prophetic" then you need to have some biblical depth in your songs and it often isn't there in simple lyrics that sometimes trespass into the realms of the hackneyed, and encouragements to praise that are little more than to "shout" or to "roar". If you are a "psalmist", you will need songs rich in melody more than extended jams. It is telling that three tracks are described as "spontaneous worship", but some of the others feel less than fully formed, too. In the end, I am sorry to say that this CD is stronger on style than it is on substance. Nevertheless, I pray his ministry will grow and mature.
