17 year old Seth Jeffery has been making instrumental music on his computer at home for a while and this CD is his first vocal music. Obviously the budget restrictions and home production limit the quality of some of these recordings but not the dance flavoured tracks. Conceptually, the 90 second "Risky Technology" works really well and "Passion 2 Dance", which combines a bit of a groove with some interesting samples, is one of the stronger tracks. However, even dance numbers like "Righteous" and "How Much" lack the whoosh of adrenaline needed to fill a floor. This is less an issue of Seth's skills as a programmer as the low budget production. There's much promise here and undelivered potential. One big problem is the quality of his vocals so if Seth is going to write vocal material he needs to consider finding a vocalist to sing it as his own voice lacks the strength or accuracy to cut it. It is particularly painfully apparent on slower cuts like "Come, Lord, Come" and "Lonely Churches". Overall, my favourite is "Lonely In Space" where, despite the weak singing, the ideas for the track show a maturity which belies his age. I want to hear more from Seth because with better production and another singer he sounds capable of delivering some excellent music.
