An album from a Brazilian power/progressive band which started so promising, with everything lined up in its favour to bowl me over: amazing production (mastered at Finnvox Studios nonetheless), female lead vocals, speedy metal riffs and impressive musical arrangements (perhaps the trademark of a Bombworks Records releases). Yet somehow it came out the other side leaving me feeling a little let down. The female vocals I mentioned were perhaps not as good as her main competitors - she seemed forced at times and flat at others. The second track was perhaps her best attempt. The power metal riffs soon felt a little repetitive and unoriginal, leaving me wanting them to explore more changes in tempo and taking different lines of attack. Track by track, they stand alone pretty well; side by side they left this reviewer a little bored and unimpressed. It's good to see more and more Brazilian Christian acts appearing on CD but they will need to be of a higher quality than Seven Angels to make a real dent on the international scene.
