This is Sheila's second solo recording having previously been involved with various group projects down the years. As such it is a delightful and unobtrusive collection of songs, with skilful instrumental and vocal work readily evident to the listener. The production is sparse but this is well suited to the overall setting in which the songs are placed. Musically, for me, the high points come when Sheila forsakes the unobtrusive world of easy listening and treats you to a passionate rendition of the self-penned An Ancient Song", a song steeped in Scripture and with a for-real traditional arrangement (complete with bodrhan). The overall strength of this recording however, is the strong Scripture base behind most of the songs. Sheila has her heart in the right place and given the fact that all of the profits of sales of this tape go to charity I would suggest that you buy this album and enjoy.
