A fair bit of Sheila Walsh's recent output has had a Celtic flavour, perhaps reflecting a return to her roots. Sheila sticks to form here, opening with Secret Garden's "You Raise Me Up". However, following the title cut "Beauty Of The Lord" is quite a contrast - an uplifting power ballad with gospel choir backing, not unlike "Something Inside So Strong". For much of the rest, Sheila covers popular CCM material and contemporary worship songs, from Twila Paris's "God Is In Control" and Michael W Smith's "Agnus Dei", to "Above All Powers" and the Rich Mullins classic "Step By Step". In places, Sheila goes for the big sound, particularly on the lavishly orchestrated medley "My Faith Looks Up To Thee/Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God Almighty". Okay, but I much prefer a more plain and simple approach. Sheila might even agree on that - she opts for Matt Redman's "Heart Of Worship" (aka "When The Music Fades") as the final track.
