The blurb on this debut release from Sheri Carr links her sound with the likes of CCM stalwarts Jennifer Knapp and Nichole Nordeman. In reality, the US singer/songwriter and Vineyard contributor has a style all of her own and she shines in this collection of mostly self-penned songs of devotion. Possessing a strong voice that more than stands up to all that renowned producer Nathan Nockels (Matt Redman, Chris Tomlin) throws at it, Carr is most at home in the guitar-driven rock of "Sing Your Praise" and "Shout Aloud". Betraying an adept versatility though, Carr glides effortlessly into quiet, meditative offerings such as a version of Jesse Rowell's "You Are So Beautiful" and the memorable "This Heart Of Mine" before bravely finishing on a more minimal note with a Celtic-tinged cover of Daphne Rademaker's "Serving You". Carr describes this release as a snapshot of the ups and downs of her walk with God and, with songs such as the title track calling us to trust God in times of uncertainty, this is a relevant collection of songs that will encourage many listeners in their relationship with Christ.
