I reviewed Sibling's last release, the eight track 'Brothers And Sisters', a couple of years back in CR54. Since then, the main duo of Phillip Edmundson and Richard Hattersley have added more members to the band and Sibling's musical style has evolved so that this new EP is their most accomplished yet. It actually includes a version of long time Sibling fave "To The One" which gives it a bit of a dance kick. Hmmm.interesting! The band have always managed to mix plenty of vibe into their melodic modern rock sound and on 'Reputation' that blend has finally paid dividends. The jangling "Character/Reputation" breaks out with some intense guitar work that creeps up on the listener to surprise them. "Beautiful Bride" has a wonderful indie feel and one of those dreamy, catchy choruses that uplifts whilst the lyrics powerfully address the Church without resorting to cliché. The only downside to 'Reputation' is the fact that it's an EP. Can't wait to hear a full album.
