The same production sausage machine that gave us the cringe worthy '22 Praise And Worship Classics' now turns its attention to 19th century/early 20th century American hymnody (known Stateside as Old Time Gospel). Given the jaunty vacuous tunes often paraded here, banal worship music is not a new problem for the Church. The renditions here are (surprise, surprise) anonymous, bland and utterly lacking passion or creative imagination and by the time I'd got to the final track on the album I'd had more than enough and dreaded the thought of another volume.
