Now here's a good example of a small budget used to the full. This delightful album of liturgical music from the Emerald Isle is a joy from start to finish. Musical director Brian Foley has wisely made the very acoustic arrangements minimal and allowed the soloists and choir to really have a shot at 'leading' some worship on tape. The choir and singers mainly come from a Catholic tradition, proving that tradition can come up with the goods from time to time. The songs are simple and pure, exalting the risen Christ in fresh yet familiar ways and could easily be used in a worship service in either a traditional church, or in a house church setting. Maybe the guys with the big bucks should have a listen to this and see that good p&w is even better when the object of the worship is given more attention than the choice of studio.
