Sons are a production duo from South London, featuring the Russell Brothers Wizdom and Ro'heezy. They lay down a solid yet laid back West-Coast gngsta-ish groove packed with interesting and self-made samples, and then coat it with social comment and the message of salvation through Jesus. The delivery of the rhymes are spot on, but the haunting piano riffs and human howling on "No Evil" distract too much from the lyrics. In fact the vibe is so harrowing and the social portrayal so condemning that it's not so much aggression, but depression. "What Happened" is much better though, with a more authoritative and up-lifting result. Production and rapping skills are up there and deserve more success. Lyrics and "feel" need more focus.
