This set, released in August 2015, is the followup to the fine 'Revival' album. That project brought in high profile guests like Kim Walker-Smith, TobyMac and Martin Smith to add to the musicians and singers emanating from Mision Carismatica Internacional (MCI) in Bogata, Colombia. This time they have foregone the special guests (though Martin Smith crops up on a couple of the composer credits) and show that SR's grasp of modern worship, often with a strong EDM influence, is still strong while in Lorena Castellanos they have a singer whose breathy, distinctive voice is appealingly effective. Recorded live, 'Afterglow' has bags of atmosphere and songs like the plea for the Holy Spirit to come in power ("Fire Fall Down") are clearly having a profound affect judging from the continuing reports of revival coming from the MCI church. Here's hoping a new Soulfire Revolution album is released before too long.
