Sadly the Spring Harvest event, once the innovator in modern worship circles, has in recent years become increasingly reliant on more other adventurous sources to locate the best new worship songs around. So here you've got Sue Rinaldi singing "Indescribable" and Leigh Barnard leading "How Great Is Our God" which aren't close in terms of quality to the Tomlin originals while having Tim Hughes record another version of "Here I Am To Worship" might satisfy Spring Harvesters who only buy SH albums but is still pretty unadventurous. There are of course a few new good songs from Hughes and Kendrick but in truth, despite the tightness of the accompanying bands, this is pretty anonymous stuff. A creative rethink is clearly overdue.
