The sleeve of this double CD makes some brave claims for both the contents ("the 20 outstanding worship songs breaking through in the Church") and the place of Spring Harvest in the scheme of things ("dedicated to mapping the current developments in worship writing"). The 20 songs/22 tracks certainly feature a number of household writers' names (Heaslip, Redman, Doerksen, Fellingham, Tomlin and Kendrick) and are pleasant enough, but they only serve to reinforce the overt conservatism in that "map" Spring Harvest refer to. The arrangements are modest - mostly soft rock, with a bit of pop and harder rock every now and again, with vocals provided by such well known figures as Neal Wilson, Cathy Burton and Nigel Briggs. A reasonable enough sampler of popular worship songs but in truth there are better recordings than this in the marketplace.
