Not quite as impactful as another recently re-released album 'Be What You Are' is 'City In The Sky' but this is still timeless R&B gospel. The same teams of Stax house writers (Homer Banks, Raymond Jackson, Bettye Crutcher, Mack Rice, etc) don't quite deliver the same number of top quality songs though the production work is still exemplary. Pops still manages the occasion gritty interjection and Mavis' gaspingly soulful voice is righteously soulful.
