This is a four-track EP from the NGM guys who used to be called Bleach. And it's pretty good (and I'm not just saying that because one of them looks about eight feet tall on the insert photo...). Steve is a drums/bass/guitars line up - plus uncredited keyboards - with a good, tight, well recorded sound and some catchy, nicely arranged tunes. The opener "Mr Wonderful" is a three minute pop delight with more hook than that pirate bloke in Peter Pan, a nice false fade and a humorous touch which reminded me of Randy Stonehill.(who? - just showing my age). Then after the Oasis-like "In The Sky", and brilliant "This Side Up" - great arrangement and harmonies - a change of pace to piano and cello for the closing Redman-esqe worship song "Daydreamer" (minor quibble: very dull sounding piano). Most promising and all over too quickly. Now, who's going to let them do an album's worth?
