Steve has, of course, been around the Canadian folk and Christian music scenes for many years. A few years ago the veteran was approached to put on a concert of his music with the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra. This was such a success that they worked some more on the orchestration and then Steve and the symphonians went into the studio. This is the result. The 14 tracks here showcase Steve's warm, rich voice while his winning way with lyrics is clear. The orchestra arrangements are augmented by clever use of drums, bass and guitar to keep the tempo up and the songs moving along nicely. From the beautiful "Here By The Water" through the almost skiffle instrumental "Waiting For Aidan" to the wonderful reworking of fellow Canadian Bruce Cockburn's "Lord Of The Starfields" the album wends a peaceful and beautiful course lifting God's name high. Well worth a listen.
